After taking the Avy course I was pretty much sold on getting a split. I found one on craigslist, the right size and (almost) the right price. As it goes with most big purchases, there is always a little buyer’s remorse. I started wondering if I would actually get out and use it and if I would enjoy it. I’ve had it only for a couple of days now and I can confidently answer, yes it was worth it and yes I will use it. While the mountains right behind our house dont exactly look that appealing, we can only see the south-face which gets hit hard by the sun. The other faces are surprisingly good and there are multiple trails accessing them within about 5 miles of my house.

I won’t bore you with an incredibly long post, but will leave it at this. I went on a tour today with Micah, Jane, and their dog Eddie. It was both of their day off, which is a bit rare so we were making the most of it. You can see here roughly where we went. Red is hiking, blue is riding.
The gang just starting the trek back to the top.
Eddie, the bundle of energy that we actually managed to wear out.
